Love Leluu

We all know that I am some what of a Carnaby Street fan, and one area in particular that I love is Kingly Court, filled full of amazing shops that stock unusual finds and gorgeous one off pieces. Unfortunately, with a whole host of large stores opening in Carnaby Street, Kingly Court has somewhat been over shadowed, lost between Henri Lloyd and Ben Sherman, which has seriously affected the small boutiques housed there.

One of my favourite Kingly Court boutique’s Love Leluu is closing down, and having a rather large sale in the process, with pieces down to £25!! Their range of gorgeously unique designs are not to be missed out on, and neither is their hand made jewellery, so I strongly advise you to pay them a visit before they close in September. Clothing, accessories, jewellery, shoes, gifts and tea, you’ll regret it if you don’t!

Daunt Books

I love books, and not just Fashion Photography books, though you would be forgiven for thinking so. Whilst the now extinct Waterstones Children’s Book department at Harrods (my first job on moving to London) will always be dear to me, my absolute favourite London bookshop is Daunt Books, situated in Marylebone High Street, as well as four other locations around London.

The décor is modelled on an original Edwardian bookshop with long oak galleries, graceful skylights, soaring windows, William Morris prints and quiet seating areas, and the experience is one of a library that is only described in books and seen in films (think Beauty and the Beast). They also hold events where you can meet and chat to authors; though unlike commercial bookshops you buy a ticket, which also entitles you to wine, to avoid hours of queuing for a few exchanged words and a quick snapshot.

So, if like About your Dress’ you are a secret bookworm and fancy a different night out, I suggest you keep an eye on their events list for an author you like to make an appearance. Otherwise, just pop down there for an enjoyable and different shopping experience in the day.
