The rain has hit us hard over the last few days, and rather than grumble about it, we should celebrate the essential part of British culture with an item that is generally seen as boring, disposable and last-minute, the umbrella.
Designer Jamie Milestone saw an umbrella as “an obvious canvas for expression… an indispensable, quintessentially British accessory”, and created London Undercover. The brand is largely about the prints, which are inspired by trademarks of the capital, including the London Underground and English breakfast. However, they also focus heavily on the elemental, functional parts of the design, to help your umbrella survive in the wind and crowds, and keep you out of embarrassing situations.
