SS11 Trend: Pleats

Recently, maybe because it’s two degrees warmer, or maybe because I’m getting a bit bored of winter, I have found myself longing for the chance to wear flowing clothes. As I am trying to avoid the whole boho vibe (I tried, I failed, I’m just too clean a person) flowing clothes aren’t too easy to find, however I seem to have found salvation in pleats.

That neat little detailing is cropping up on garments everywhere, with the high street incorporating them into trousers, shirts, skirts and dresses they are an elegant update that will still leave you with that free feeling. Now whilst I’ve only put a few items from them, I recommend you head to the ASOS and Topshop websites for more pleated beauties.

Here are a few of About your Dress’ favourites:

ASOS Pleated Bust Jumpsuit – £50

ASOS Pleated Sleeveless Maxi Dress – £65

Love Label One Shoulder Pleated Dress – £48

Motel Sally Pleated Skirt -£12

Peacocks Ladies Pleated Skirt – £18

Purple at Dorothy Perkins Pleat One Sleeve Dress – £38

Theory at Liberty Fuchsia One Shoulder Pleated Dress – £152 (was £380)

Robbie Bee at TK Maxx Pleated Dress – £19

Topshop Pleat Collar Blouse – £38

Topshop Tobacco Pleated Wide Leg Trousers – £48

  1. I love the detailing of pleats when it is done well. It adds an extra dimension to pieces. I love the pics that you have chosen for the post too, a really good selection.
