Maiami

Knitwear? Yes knitwear. These handknitted cardigans, jumpers and accessories are from Berlin based label Maiami‘s AW 11/12 collection, but with this crazy weather, I should be wearing them now. Maiami focus on traditional handcraft with a modern twist, combining classic knit with other materials, colours and patterns.

Here are a few of my favourites:

Casadei

Ooopppss. I’ve not been very good with keeping up with blogging since my exams finished, things have been a little crazy, lots of catching up with friends, celebrating results (finished with a 2:1) and I got a new (degree related) job! All this time it seems to be getting wetter and wetter, and I’ve been dreaming more and more about bright high heels, because what’s life without amazing shoes?

This is how I discovered Casadei, the Italian brand that is over 50 years old, a sure sign of quality. They have created some amazing pieces this season, chunky heels, big platforms, sculpted wedges, and eye-catching pop colours.

Here are a few of my favourites:

I went a bit eBay crazy again…

I planned to clear my wardrobe as soon as my exams were over, however the celebrations went on a little longer than I expected, but I finally got around to it this weekend! I’ve put 40 items up, some have never been worn, many have only been worn once or a few times. Most of them are high street brands (can’t bring myself to part with designer at the moment) including Topshop, H&M, River Island, American Apperal and ASOS, and there are a few pieces of vintage. Also, everything except one item starts at 99p, so they are definitely worth a look! You can view all of the items here.

SS11 Trend: Hawaiian Prints

Prints, prints, prints, oh how they brighten up my day, week, year. As far as prints go it can be difficult in terms of what’s in, what isn’t and how to wear them right. This makes Hawaiian prints are a must have in my eyes this season with two simple rules. 1, if it’s hawaiian, it works. 2. Just pair it with something simple. Dresses with plain shoes, shirts with denim shorts and jackets with pop colour dresses. There are some great pieces on the high street, but have a rummage through your nearest vintage store for the better, unique pieces.

A few favourites include:

Topshop Hawaiian Print Dress, £25, in-store only.

Motel Emilia Dress, £52.

Amy Winehouse for Fred Perry, Hawaiian Print Short Sleeve Shirt, £82.

Sugarhill Boutique, Hawaiian Tropic Shorts, £18 (Was £35)

Beyond Retro, 1990’s Short Dress, £24.

Beyond Retro, Must Have Casual Coat, £20.

T-Bags Tropical Print Jersey Dress, The Outnet, £77.50 (Was £155)

Oh and here is one I put on eBay earlier…

Vintage Hawaiian Print Cotton Jumper

I’m Back!!!!

Hello. Remember me? Yes, I am finally back. It has been a crazy few months, mainly spent in the library. Lots of changes, became another year older (eeek), now I’m just looking for a change of job, but isn’t every graduate? Lots of other things to do too, one major task is to eBay some of my wardrobe, so keep a look out for a post on that soon. Oh and I started a Tumblr, revision procrastination lead me to listening to lots of music and looking at random pictures, and I thought I’d make somewhere to share them, I’ve dedicated a blog page to it if you ever want to look.

Usual service shall be resuming shortly, I’ve still be looking at lots of brands and trends that I am desperate to share. Also, my shopping has been as consistent as ever, so I am contemplating doing outfit posts, maybe when I have a few gym sessions down! So, keep checking back, show some love, and bear with me whilst I sort my life out!
